The situation regarding dramatic works is complicated. If you want to buy a copy of a score to study it or to learn a part for a production in which you are singing, that is straightforward: just make the purchase and we will despatch it as soon as possible. If, on the other hand, you are a conductor or theatre director planning a staged performance (or a longer production run in one of more venues), performance fees come into play. These are not unreasonable and the performing material (which you cannot buy without a contractual agreement) is supplied according to your needs within the total payable fee, which is often collected AFTER the event. Scores can be supplied to individual singers at a reduced rate once the initial arrangements have been signed off.
