This piece has 11 movements, some for soloists, some for the full ensemble, and some for a combination (the "Domine Dues, Agnus Dei" alternates alto and tenor soloists with the tutti, while the "Qui tollis peccata mundi" is for two tenors and two basses). This piece has three movements. The outer Kyries are for the full ensemble, while the central Christe reduces the voices to four parts. All three movements bear witness to the composer's gift for melodic writing and his fantastic contrapuntal abilities.

Dating from 1735 – by which time the composer had been Vice-Maestro at the Imperial court in Vienna for 20 years – this through-composed psalm setting for two male soloists is a familiar blend of his ingenious counterpoint and flowing (ear-worming!) melodies.
