Taken from her third book, dated 1687, this motet is described as suitable for sopranos or tenor, though the line "I am the life of hearts, I am sweet Mary" suggests that the tenor Leonarda had in mind might also have been a woman... The piece is neither as extensive nor as demanding as "Dulcis amor", but singers will particularly enjoy the gently rolling triple time sections that open and close the piece.
