FER001 Il Pianto di maria

Full score

This setting of a text reminiscent of the Stabat mater is scored for soprano solo with strings. For much of the time there are two violins, but in the sixth movement the composer (who was active in Germany as well as in Italy, where he was visited by the teenage Mozart and his father) expands the ensemble to four violins and adds an additional bass part, too.
