On the morning of the church year's most important feasts, services at the Lutheran court of Anhalt-Zerbst featured (as well as the usual cantata) a setting of the Kyrie and Gloria portions of the Latin mass. (On lower Sundays, Lutheran chorales were used as substitutes). The present work was re-worked by Fasch (and possibly others) at various stages; the edition presents the original version of the Kyrie-Christe-Kyrie complex, as well as and appendix with its later one-movement replacement.
This edition is completely new for 2021 and replaces the earlier version.
