The form of this cantata is unusual. The poet Lehms wrote four verses with the rhyme pattern ABABCC. Graupner chose to set the first and last for the full ensemble, while the second movement features tremolo strings and duetting sopranos singing verse 2, while the bass sings verse 3 to a chorale melody that he used in at least three other cantatas.
